Remember those days you had a craving for food you had during one of your trips abroad and thus begun your search for a restaurant serving the same cuisine or dish.
In 2015 these guys entered the picture with an intention to change the way we eat especially during those boring office lunch days. I still remember ordering numerous times last year and sending out a silent thanks to Freshmenu for just being there for us hungry foodies.
Fast forward to 2016 where their zeal to come up every other day with new ideas and dishes has not dimmed but actually has grown to the extent they had a group of food crazy bloggers meet up at their office to taste their dishes and share our views on their food.
It is always nice to meet the team behind the magic of great food and I had the opportunity to meet the team at FreshMenu which is a young vibrant group headed by Ms.Rashmi Daga, the founder.
My earliest recollection of ordering from FreshMenu was the salads. They have a very good though small choice of salads in their daily menu for the health conscious.
SMOKED SALMON WITH ORANGE SALAD
I have always been a chicken salad kinda gal but this Salmon salad just blew me away. The Salmon was fresh and in combination with fresh lettuce, orange bites ,cherry tomatoes and olives is an excellent choice for a quick bite be a it an office lunch or a an early dinner.
APPLE AND PEAR SALAD WITH GOAT CHEESE
Now no one in their right mind would say no to a fresh fruit salad. The salad was crunchy and the goat cheese gave the salad the perfect taste!
Bao’s are now a common enough appetizer in Bangalore though getting it done perfectly is still quite difficult. Hence when I heard that FM is now planning to serve Bao’s I was quite excited.The Bao’s served were fully closed keeping in mind that they need to deliver the Bao’s with the filling in place. The Bao’s are also a little thicker than usual again for the same reason of keeping the filling in place. Both the below Bao’s were served with a Chilli Garlic Dip.
STEAMED EXOTIC VEGETABLE AND TOFU BAO
The Vegetable Bao was quite tasty and though not much of a Tofu person, the combination of chopped veggies with tofu was very good.
PAN FRIED OYSTER CHICKEN BAO
Pan fried Bao is a great idea to the normal steamed Bao’s and the filling with the chicken was tasty. The dips added a bit of added flavour to both the Bao dishes.
ASSORTED LEBANESE PLATTER
Adding a Mediterranean touch to their food was the Lebanese Platter consisting of different breads and hummus. The dips were Roasted Garlic and Lemon Hummus, Tazaski and Sun Dried Tomato Pesto.
The dips were very well prepared and I understand there is some thought within their team to sell these in jars. A great option for those love to use dips not only for breads but also for nachos, chips etc.
SRIRACHA PANEER SKEWERS
Marinated in sriracha sauce and served with Barbecue dip, this was one of my best dishes for the day. A sure fire hit not only with the vegetarians but also the non vegetarians.
CHETTINADU CHICKEN BURGER
Chettinadu flavoured chicken patty is a nice twist to the normal burger option and this goes to show their chef’s innovative thoughts behind every dish served.
GNOCCHI WITH CHERRY TOMATO IN ARRABIATA SAUCE
Gnocchi has always been a personal favourite especially having tasted the original dish in Rome. This dish with the Arrabiata sauce was a good try but a little heavy on the sauce.
HONEY GLAZED DUCK WITH MASHED POTATO AND SAUTEED BEANS
Now where do you find a delivery menu with an option of duck? The duck was prepared with a perfect blend of honey and served with mouth melting mashed potato.
PAN SEARED SALMON WITH CITRUS BEURRE BLANC, PEA POTATO MASH AND SAUTEED VEGETABLES
For all those sea food lovers, if Fresh Menu starts serving this dish your wait comes to an end!
A perfect pan seared fresh salmon balanced beautifully with a light yet flavourful citrus beurre blanc sauce on a bed of pea potato mash and crisp and crunchy veggies.
BLACK RICE RISOTO WITH BROWN BUTTER VEGETABLES
Having also tried black rice risotto more than once and not liking it much, I did not expect much from this dish. But the chef seems to have tried something different (though I cannot still put a finger to exactly what that is) and it was surprisingly tasty with the veggies adding that little extra to the dish.
Again for the health conscious foodies, this one’s definitely a must!
Now I am a very choosy dessert person and would only order a dessert if it comes served to my table at the end of my meal and not as a delivery.
We were served the below desserts and I was completely awed by the Cranberry and Pure Dark Chocolate.

The whole Tasting experience was extremely well thought out by their team as well as their Chefs.
A few words for Ms.Daga who knows what she wants to serve but at the same time is very keen to know a layman’s view on their food be it their quality, presentation or packaging with an intention to change for the better.
FreshMenu is here to stay and I ensure you would not be disappointed if you gave them a chance to wow you!
