Beer Makes Me Hoppy @The Beer Cafe
What do you do when you crave for a decent Beer?
Pop into any one of the many pubs and be served the usual beers! Now you can ditch that and head on to The Beer Cafe which has only one agenda to serve you an excellent range of beers from across the globe.
I had only one question when I heard about The Beer Cafe, why call it a Cafe? I guess the idea is to keep the ambience and the feel of the place casual so that anyone will feel comfortable to step in and have a beer.
The Beer Cafe currently has 3 outlets in VR Mall – Whitefield, Koramangala and Indira Nagar with plans to open a few more in the coming months. I have visited the Indira Nagar cafe a few times now and though it is probably the smallest in terms of space it still has a nice cozy feel.
These guys have been smart enough to understand the Beer lovers mindset and started merchandise sales under the name “Beer O Sphere”ranging from Cushion covers, USB sticks, Mugs, Glasses etc. The most exciting ones are Spinchill and Sonic Beer Foamer. The Spinchill chills a warm beer in a minute and the Sonic Beer Foamer which uses ultrasonic waves to get your beer frothy again. Sounds cool doesn’t it! Check these out before they get sold out!
They have also tied up with Blippar who are known for their image recognition and augmented reality app. All you have to do once you download the Blippar app is to scan the label and see all the details about your Beer.
BEERS
We drink them but do we know them? Here’s what I know about Beers and do excuse if it is incomplete!
TYPES – Ales, Lagers, Stouts, Porters and Malt
STYLES – Amber, Blonde, Dark, Dry, Fruit, Golden, India Pale, Light, Pilsner, Strong, Wheat.
The Beer Cafe is known to have house more than 30-40 varieties of beer from around 10-15 countries. Unfortunately the times I visited their Indira Nagar branch they have not had more than 10 types of beer.
BEERS I HAVE TRIED HERE
KROMBACHER WEIZEN – Germany
LEFFE BLONDE – Belgium
TSINGTAO – China
ESTRELLA – Spain
Their Food Menu is a good variety of munchable starters, large plates for big groups, salads, pizzas, pastas and main course all of which are a mix of Indian and Continental dishes.
MUNCHABLES:
CORN BHEL
The corn bhel was made very well and had the right punch as an accompaniment to the beer.
CHICKEN TIKKA
The usual styled chicken tikka well presented.
CHILLI BABY CORN
A babycorn dish is normally expected to be bite sized but they served the baby corn in long slices in a well made sauce. I personally would have preferred the baby corn to be in smaller pieces so that it absorbs more of the sauce.
The Beer Cafe also wants us Beer Lovers to know our Beer and Food pairing and provides a good descriptive in their Food Menu.
A small peek into the Beer and Food pairing they suggest.
SOME TOILET BEER HUMOUR
My 2 Bits:
I personally love Beer and if you share this love then without a doubt this is the place to head to.
Looking forward to seeing more Beer Cafe’s in Bangalore.
