Benefit Your Health With Fruit Infused Water

Water is essential to our everyday life and I often find plain water boring. While it is recommended that you drink eight glasses of water a day everyone knows it is quite difficult to calculate exactly one’s water intake unless you are an athlete or seriously into fitness.

We often look for a new way to get fit and healthy forgetting that simple things such as drinking lots of water is one of the rules that you cannot avoid in this journey. While staying hydrated is important for health, most people don’t drink enough water throughout the day. I personally know a lot of people who say they don’t drink much water, because it’s bland and tasteless. 

The latest trend is fruit infused water and if you are one of those people wondering what this fad is all about, I hope this post would help you understand it better to make an informed decision whether you need it or not. I guess some people thought that adding extra ingredients to water helps to change the taste and hence the term fruit infused water came about which is also called detox water, fruit flavoured water etc. The idea is brilliant since not only do you land up drinking much more water, you also land up getting a fruity snack once you finish your bottle. So what exactly is infused water – The water that has been infused with the flavours of fresh fruits, vegetables or herbs is referred to as fruit-infused water. This infused water is simple to make as the combinations are numerous and at the same time has no calories making it just the thing you need to maintain good health.

Being into fitness, my one issue always has been my poor intake of water and over the last few months I have been trying different ways to increase my water intake to no avail. It’s not that I don’t want to drink water, I just simply forget. I recently got my hands on a Fruit Infuser bottle from Instacuppa and finally decided to add this to my daily routine. Fruit infuser bottles are almost as same as normal water bottles except they have a fruit infusing element to it’s design and this means the fruits is always in the water and only fruit water comes out of the nozzle. 

So how do you make this fruit infused water? 

1. Cut and put the fruits/herbs into the inside case of the Fruit Infuser Bottle noting that the fruit should be sliced thinly to ensure ultimate infusion. 

2. Place the case containing the fruits into the main bottle and pour water into the same.

3. Place the fruit infuser bottle in the refrigerator for 2-6 hours. The time depends on the combinations used and this was a hit and miss for me. But rest assured you will figure out the taste as per your liking. 

Some combinations I researched which are quite good as given below,

  • Cucumber + Mint + Lime 
  • Lemon + Ginger 
  • Mint + Strawberry + Lime 
  • Watermelon + Mint
  • Orange + Lime 
  • Strawberry + Basil
  • Apple + Cinnamon

So besides tasting great and having no calories, fruit infused water has many additional health benefits,

  • Improves your mood
  • Flushes toxins from your system assisting in better digestive health
  • Helps to naturally curb snack cravings
  • Keeps food moving through your system
  • Keeps you from feeling groggy during the later part of your day

In addition to our normal life, for those who work out it also helps to, 

  • Keeps your organs healthy while you’re sweating.
  • Reduces muscle fatigue while working out.
  • Helps you recuperate faster from a workout.

I bet you didn’t realize that this much is actually possible from such a simple drink like fruit infused water. 

In today’s day and age, it is difficult to maintain goals we set for ourselves be it eat healthy, work out, sleep longer etc we are constantly trying to improve ourselves and I have realized that this step towards better hydration has worked wonders for me. My selection of the fruit infuser bottle from Instacuppa turned out to be sensible choice as they have done a great job of making a perfect water infuser. 

For someone who used to drink sugary and carbonated drinks, I would say fruit infused water is a huge step for me in the right direction. I do hope that you would give this simple drink a try, after all it means you will drink more water and that can only be a good thing!

    I have to agree infused water is best if you are looking to fix your carbonated drink fix. Plus it’s helathy with almost zero cals!

    This sounds like a great idea! Can we use it without refrigerating it? I don’t give cold water to my kids, so was wondering it it would be good?

    I like lemon in my water. Infact whenever we eat out, I ask for some lemon wedges. It makes me drink more water and also saves me from feeling overfull.
    Watermelon, mint are my favorite ingredients for infused water.

    Fruit infuser bottle works well in giving refreshing drinks at home only. The product quality look safe and durable to use.

    I love infused water, it helps in keeping my water intake on track. Plain water at times is difficult to drink but if we try a couple of option of infused water then it gets better.

    This is such a cool idea to get the goodness of fruit and at the same time make the boring water lil more interesting…it can be such better way to detox as well

    It’s a great way of improving health. My favorite combination is Mint + Strawberry + Lime; my children are not as peaky and they enjoy drinking any kind of infused water. In summer, we all drink this kind of water. And in winter, when not all fruits are available in stores, we filter water with the help of an alkaline water pitcher that saturates water with healthy minerals.

    Infused water is really great. I can remember i started drinking infused waters when i was in high school. Since then i drink infused water more that normal water. My favorite flavor is pineapple, apple and greps. People like mixed fruit flavor but I don’t know why i don’t like mixed flavor at all.
