Cooking Made Simple With TTK Prestige Cookware & Masterchef Shazia Khan
Cooking is one of those everyday used words that everyone knows. But what does it really mean?
Is it the art or technique or ingredients or appliances we use that create dishes which leave happy smiles and lasting memories? As a homechef and an avid food lover, I would say a bit of all the above combined with love for the art / hobby / job.
If you have been living in India, especially South India then you would definitely be familiar with the brand TTK Prestige. Started in 1928, this brand is considered to be one of the oldest business in India. I am quite sure there is no household which does not at least one appliance from the brand and hence I was quite glad to witness a cooking session by Masterchef Shazia Khan using TTK Prestige cookware.
My usually dull monday morning was transformed into a blur of activity to get ready and reach The Oberoi, Bangalore where TTK group had organized this event. A sensible location at the heart of the city making it convenient for food critics, bloggers and the press to reach.
I was one of the lucky few to reach the venue well in advance and had the opportunity to glance at leisure through the various cookware and kitchen appliances such as the Prestige Air-Fryer, Prestige Slow Juicer, Clip on Pressure Cooker, Schott Glass Gas Hob Top, Automatic Mixer Grinder, Induction Cook Top, Gold Cookware and Veggie cutter on display as well as the Chef Shazia Khan’s book ” What’s on the Menu”.
  Â
It took me a while during my initial cooking days to get a grasp of pressure cooking and I am always on the lookout on how to make cooking simpler and quicker. One of the items  on display which caught my attention was the Clip on Pressure Cooker.
During the event, more info on this appliance was shared with the audience. The features of this cooker is pretty awesome wherein one of my main issues of aligning the lid is no longer a problem thanks to the “clip on’ feature. Â Another definite winner is the fact that you can use one lid for 4 different vessels from their range and can be used to boil, saute, fry, steam, pressure cook and serve.
The event began with a brief introduction by Mr. Chandru Kalro, Managing Director, TTK Prestige about TTK Prestige, their cookware and the role in everyday life of a homechef Though their tag line goes ” Jo biwi se kare pyaar, woh Prestige se kaise kare inkaar” , I was glad to hear the gentlemen mention that nowadays even men are very interested in cooking especially in the homes and maybe soon it would be the otherway round soon.
A smart move by the company was to rope in Chef Shazia Khan who shot to limelight with Masterchef India. Though not an avid watcher of Masterchef, I had heard of Shazia Khan and I was glad to meet the very elegant lady in person. Though she was quite busy in prepping before the event, she obliged to a photo to every person who requested.
For the audience, the organizers had provided a list of the dishes which she was going to prepare using TTK Prestige cookware but what came as a surprise to me was that she was going to get all of it done within a span of one hour.
It was a pleasure to see her unflustered and whipping up all 5 dishes including talking about the cookware she was using, plating and presentation within the given time period in spite of many distractions in the form of eager photographers and enthusiast food tasters

Post the event, it was time for more photographs not only of the dishes created by Ms.Khan but also a few selfies followed by lunch organized by The Oberoi.
I have never being much into attending such events and I was glad to have attended this one as it was an enjoyable and interesting experience.
