Fine Italian Cuisine @ Chianti
Chianti has been around for a long time and is one of the first few restaurants to have started on this busy Koramangala street.
Considering the number of restaurants which have popped up over the fast few years this place has managed to maintain their customer base as well rope in many others with their flawless service and excellent food.
This restaurant being close to my office has been my destination for many a client lunch / dinner.
The ambience is welcoming with comfortable seating and soft lighting making it a definite dinner stopover for those looking for a romantic setting.
This particular outing was a meal with colleagues – a group of 4.
Our server was polite and extremely well mannered with a smile on his face which is such a pleasure to see nowadays.
APPETIZER:
CROSTINI DI VERDUREÂ
Toasted bread topped with mixed diced vegetables sprinkled with fresh mozarella cheese.
This simple appetizer was perfect to start our meal with the bread toasted to perfection and the toppings adding the perfect crunch.
BEVERAGESÂ
Being a working lunch, my colleague and I decided to stick to mocktails for our meal.
VIRGIN SANGRIAÂ
My colleague is a Sangria lover and she decided to try their mocktail version which turned out to be an excellent drink.
VIRGIN MOJITOÂ
A simple yet well prepared and refreshing mocktail to complement my meal.
MAIN COURSE:
GAMBERI ALLA GRIGLIAÂ
Grilled Tiger prawns  in zesty lemon and butter sauce served with grilled vegetables. The prawns were lightly flavoured and in combination with the butter sauce was absolutely delightful. I suppose the grilled vegetables could have deserved  a little more attention from the Chef.
PIZZA DI VERDURE
For my veggie colleagues, this seems to be a must order dish and its combination of mixed vegetables with mozzarella cheese and olive oil did not disappoint.
SALMONE ALLA GRIGLIA
Grilled Salmon with a lemon butter sauce served with spaghetti aglio olio peperonico was the dish our server suggested as one of their Signature dishes.
The salmon was buttery soft though a little bland on the flavour but the lemon sauce provided along with the spaghetti made the dish quite interesting.
LASAGNEÂ AL FORNO
Pasta layered in vegetarian sauce is not my kind of dish as I am a meat lover but nevertheless this dish was very good.
DESSERTS:
Though I do not have much of a sweet tooth, I knew that their desserts were good and we ordered for the below mentioned.
TIRAMISUÂ
An excellently plated and prepared Tiramisu.
PANNA COTTAÂ
Once again flawless presentation of soft melt in the Panna Cotta served with Berry compote.
CIOCCOLATO ALLA NOCCIOLA MOUSSEÂ
A Hazelnut chocolate mousse with an impressive sounding name was my dessert. The mousse was excellent, though I did not like the hazelnut base too much.
Having had original Italian cuisine in Rome and Milan, I can definitely say that Chianti is probably one of Bangalore’s best Italian restaurants.
