Kebab & Biryani Fiesta | Nook | Aloft Cessna Business Park | Bangalore

Aloft Cessna Business Park has become a second home to me mainly because they are probably one of the few hotels which take an extra effort to try out different cuisine inspite of having excellent location and great crowd. For more info about the Aloft do check out post on my first visit here

Food festivals need to showcase not only different country cuisines but in certain cases like this one, dishes from Afghani to Awadhi which is loved world over – KEBABS & BIRYANI.

I did not think twice when I heard about the Kebab & Biryani food fiesta and decided to get my hubby to tag along as we both love these dishes. I did expect to see a few types of biryanis but the number of biryanis laid out in the buffet in all its glory was a sight to behold for any biryani lover.

The Kebab & Biryani Food Fiesta is on from 11th Sept – 22nd September 2017 for lunch and dinner on weekdays , priced at Rs.1099/- ++.

As is my routine, I prefer to walk around the buffet section taking in all the different dishes and presentation with my eyes and camera and then settle in for a quiet and relaxing evening with friends.

The buffet has different sections showcasing the food festival dishes prominently in the front along with desserts, a section for the salads and continental appetizers, another area for the kebabs.

Our night began with a few cocktails specifically made by the bartender to complement the food being served. Whisky Cocktails served were –  Copper Monkey, Red Eye, Garden Time, Trouble in Paradise. Every cocktail has a unique ingredient like lemongrass, mint etc. I personally liked the Copper Monkey.

The Veg appetizers were – Mushroom Gauloti, Paneer Corn ke Sheek Kebab and Potato Sphere. Though not much of veg starter lover I loved trying their different kebabs and it was delicious.

The Non veg appetizers were not too far behind – Murgh Palak ke Korma Kebab, Gilafi Sheek Kebab, Tandoori Raan, Pudina Macchi Tikka, Murgh Reshmi Kebab and Methi Jhinga. Every non veg kebab had such lovely flavours it was difficult to come to a conclusion on my favourite. The Sheek Kebab took the honours for the night by a small margin thanks to the lingering memories it left behind.

It was time for me to get moving a bit and as expected I made a beeline for the salad section to nibble on some light and healthy food. The salad section is such a pleasing sight for the eyes with their colourful and large spread.

Finally it was time for my favourite part of this particular meal – to try the numerous biryanis laid for the festival.

Veg Biryanis – Malli Valakayi Biryani (Raw Banana), Lucknow Chaman Biryani and Paneer Biryani. While I tried a little of all the veg biryanis, I was fascinated with raw banana biryani and absolutely loved the taste of it.

Non-veg Biryanis – Malabar Chicken Biryani, Mutte Biryani (egg), Kacche Gosht ki Biryani, Macchi Biryani and Quail Biryani. Though a few familiar biryanis in this list, I knew the flavours would be quite different and give it all a try before settling for the Mutte Biryani. If you love south indian especially tamilian preparations then you are in for a treat with the Mutte biryani.

Normally one biryani is enough to bring a goofy smile to my face so you can imagine my pleasure after having loads of different biryanis.

Though I had no intention of trying their special desserts for the festival, I found myself at the dessert counter picking one of each dessert. Sometimes the heart just rules and you go with the flow, no questions asked.

Every time I visit Aloft CBP for a food festival I leave with a thought it can’t get better than this! But I revise that statement and without a shred of doubt, this Kebab & Biryani Food Festival was my best food festival here till date.

A shout out to the entire time with a special mention to Chef Sandeep Kumar for the amazing spread!
