Aloft Cessna Business Park is one of those hotels in Bangalore which takes great pride in serving their patrons with different cuisines over the course of the year. I have been fortunate to have tried many food festivals at their restaurant – Nook and every new food festival is a wonderful insight into the diversity of culture which reflects on the cuisine of regions in India.
Located inside Cessna Business Park, the hotel mainly caters to the busy IT sector but manages to maintain a perfect balance between business and leisure with their Trading Hours (happy hours) and Food Festivals. Launched in 2014, the hotel features 191 spacious, loft – like rooms, an urban design aesthetic, live music performances and an active social scene. Aloft Bengaluru Cessna Business Park caters to the next generation traveler and is considered to be among the best hotels in Bangalore.
2018 calls for something special and who doesn’t love roast and grilled food hence they have come up with a Roast & Grill Food Fest to start the year with a bang! I did not think twice when I heard about the Roast & Grill Food Fest and decided to head over for a taste of meats and veggies roasted and grilled to perfection. The Roast & Grill Food Fest is on from 15th – 25th January 2018 for lunch and dinner on weekdays , priced at Rs.1099/- + taxes.
As is my routine, I prefer to walk around the buffet section taking in all the different dishes and presentation with my eyes and camera and then settle in for a quiet and relaxing evening with friends. The buffet has different sections showcasing the food festival dishes prominently in the front area along with festival special desserts as well as Indian desserts , a section for the salads and continental appetizers, another area for the kebabs.
Some of the festival special appetizers were varied starting with the vegetarian specials – Spanakopita with Pepper Coli, Crispy Roast Eggplant Parmigiana, Charcoal Grilled Paneer Tikka and Sarsowali Broccoli. While all the veg appetizers had their own special flavour, I loved the Paneer Tikka and for those who love mustard the Sarsowali Broccoli is a must try.
There are some mouth watering appetizers for the non vegetarians such as the Barbeque Mutton Shashlik, Kuveri Prawn, Parsly Dusted Grilled Fish with Chilli Orange Sauce, Tandoori Lamb Chops, Iranian Lamb Kebabs. I knew the Kuveri Prawns and the Tandoori Lamb chops would be my pick just by smelling the aromas wafting my way.
It was time for me to get moving a bit and as expected I made a beeline for the salad section to nibble on some light and healthy food. The salad section is such a pleasing sight for the eyes with their colourful and large spread, this time with the Assorted Seafood Platter stealing the show.
Don’t miss the live counter serving a special Malabar Chicken Roast with Salna!
Moving over to the Main course, some of the festival specials for this course were the Thai Roast Red Snapper, Murugh Mussalam, Thai Roast Lamb Legs with Mint Sauce and many more. While I would have loved to give all of them a try, my stomach had other ideas and after a massive intake of starters, I knew I had to slow down if I wanted to have my pick of the desserts too.
That said, what’s a food festival without a Biryani and hence the Mutton Biryani ended that course on a satisfying note!
Though I had no intention of trying their special desserts for the festival, I found myself at the dessert counter picking one of each dessert. Sometimes the heart just rules and you go with the flow, no questions asked.
The sweets served for this food festival that night were a combination of some special desserts as well as some Indian desserts.
Aloft CBP is one of those places where you walk in, grab a drink at their lounge and then move on to savour some of their specially thought out Food Festivals.
