Tata Hexa – New Showstopper in Town
What does one think when they hear the name TATA – Trust is probably the first thing that pops in my mind. Tata has in the past delivered some successful and some not so successful car models and they are on the threshold of launching their SUV – Hexa in India.
Tata Motors have indeed outdone themselves with their new SUV and lifestyle car. The Hexa that packs quite a punch be it the stylish exteriors, sophisticated interiors or the smooth driving experience.
Though I love driving and have been driving for the last 12 years, I must confess I am neither an automobile expert nor an enthusiast. However an invite from Indiblogger did perk my interest and this was my first Auto experience.
Tata Motors has smartly used a pre-launch platform to assist auto enthusiasts, experts and bloggers understand about HEXA’s abilities.
Being new to the whole car launch experience, I did a bit of research and understood that Tata Motors took almost 3 years to come up with this beauty. That’s something I must say in this day and age where after the launch of Duster a few years ago all the car manufacturers have been in the race of launching their own SUV’s. Hence the time and effort that Tata Motors put into the HEXA itself is an indication of what one can expect.
Having a Ford Ecosport in the family, I was quite keen to understand the features that Hexa sports and I must say that this SUV seems to have covered most of the required features one needs in an adventure and road trip companion be it a steep uphill climb, descent or a smooth drive over any kind of terrain.
EXPERIENCE CENTRE:
Lets start with the Tata Hexa Experience Centre. The venue was White Orchid Convention Centre adjacent to Manyata Tech Park. Being part of the Indiblogger community I already had my Indipass and was directed to the IndiBlogger counter where I was greeted by a bunch of enthusiast team members.
The Experience Centre was indeed quite interesting with the showstopper HEXA being displayed in all its grandeur in the centre. The area was also packed with other Tata brands such as Mia from Tanishq and Croma. It is quite natural to have the family tag along and hence there was a play area with some fun stuff for kids to do. For the hungry souls, there were a few food and drink counters available. What I found quite amazing was the Pet adoption area, which is a plus in my books any day.

I was quite keen to have a look at the car but the display area was packed with keen and likely probable buyers hence I just managed to get a few peeks before heading off to their Off Road experience.
CAR SPECS AT A GLANCE:
I did manage to get a good and thorough look at the cars on display outside. The vehicle comes in Manual and Automatic modes having 6 different variants – XE, XM, XT, XMA, XTA AND XT 4 x 4. They also have a fully equipped version for the fitness enthusiasts to carry bikes or camping gear.

OFF ROAD EXPERIENCE:
This particular area was meant to be the highlight of the experience and the wait for our turn was worth it. The off road experience was to showcase the capabilities of the car through all kind of obstacles with an off road track.
We were taken through all the obstacles and off road track by an experienced car expert who took time in explaining every feature of the car along with on hand demonstration of the car’s capabilities and use of the different driving modes.
Inspite of the obstacles, climb and descent, the Tata Hexa gives one a smooth comfortable drive and most importantly the feeling of a Safe drive.
Main features explained during our drive:
Drive Modes – This is the best feature of the Hexa. The Manual version comes with 4 modes – Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road. Each mode is meant to be used as per the different terrains such as City, Highway, Uphill and so on. The Automatic variant comes in Sports and Manual mode.
Hill Hold Control – This feature helps the vehicle hold for 3 seconds on a steep ascent preventing the vehicle from rolling backwards and giving enough time for the driver to take the vehicle forward.
Hill Descent Control – This is another excellent feature which on a steep descent ensures the vehicle does not go faster that a preset speed allows the driver to let go of the accelerator and brake and let the vehicle take you down the descent.
Traction Control System – This feature helps the vehicle hold on slippery and wet terrains and we had a first hand experience on how well this vehicle manages to avoid slipping.
Electronic Brake Pre-fill – The car has been fitted with smart sensors which can detect any sudden changes when driving at high speeds which will prepare to engage the brakes providing maximum braking potential when the brakes are applied thereby preventing any delayed reaction time.
All in all, Hexa seems to be a perfect bet and ticks all the right boxes in my book for a city, highway or rough terrain drive and is ready to take up almost any challenge thrown its way.
Of course, every vehicle will have its limits and the Tata Hexa Off Roading Experience is solely organized knowing the vehicles limitations with experienced drivers to showcase this SUV’s capabilities.
Finally thanks to Indiblogger and Tata Hexa for a great experience and hopefully the beginning of many more to come!
Hi there would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using? I’m planning to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a hard time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
