Vroom into Chug “The Garage Bar”
Theme pubs are the in thing in Bangalore and the owners of Chug – The Garage Bar have smartly taken up the Bikers theme.
Thanks to the showrooms opened by Royal Enfield, Harley Davidson, Triumph and many more the biker community in Bangalore is thriving and many biker gangs have been established over the last few months.
Biker gangs love their get together and finding a right setting for their gathering is now easy thanks to Chug.
Located on the Nagawara stretch close to Elements Mall this pub is easily connected to one and all. If these guys were located on the ground floor of the building, I am sure there would have been a large number of bikes parked outside!
I am not a biker but I absolutely loved the decor of this pub. The theme is perfectly executed with the use of different bike parts used to decorate the walls, furniture as well as lighting. The seating is kept comfortable keeping in mind this is a place to unwind be it for a biker or a regular pub goer!
A well arranged bar counter with some interesting looking spice and spirits mixtures serves as the centerpiece for this pub. In addition, a very people friendly and eager to please Bartender added an interesting touch to the meet up.
DRINKS :
The Bar menu was true to their theme with their cocktails and mocktails named after commonly used words in Biker terminology.
Thanks to their enthusiast Bartender we tried a lot of their cocktails and also managed to get an idea on that special touch behind the taste of their cocktails.
Among the drinks we tried, my personal favourite was Bonneville where the flavour of burnt orange blended brilliantly with the rum.
Another sure fire hit and I hope it is part of their menu was the Golgappa Shots. Alcohol shots with Golgappa..Need I say more!
FOOD :
Every pub goer in addition to their drinks likes to have good finger food and the Chef here definitely knows what makes the perfect Pub grub!

Among the veg appetizers, my personal favourite was the Corn which was crunchy at the same time juicy and full of flavours.

The Bacon Wrapped Prawns and the Green Chilly Beef were the show stoppers from the Non veg appetizers spread.
MAIN COURSE :
A very different and interesting range of dishes were served ranging from Pizzas, Risotto, Mac N Cheese to Basa Fish.

Among the Veg Main Course, the Eggplant Parmigiana though not very interesting sounding did manage to thrill my taste buds especially when I normally never liked Eggplant.

A special mention to their Risotto – Madras Curry Risotto was excellent. Their Pizzas too were not too far behind and the fact that it disappeared in a matter of seconds goes to show how good it they are.
DESSERTS:
For someone who thought they had done an excellent job with the Drinks and Food, I was blown away by their desserts.
Trust me, the pictures do not do any justice to taste of the desserts and I am definitely heading back here for their Tiramisu and Chocolate Brownie.
They also have a large open area which houses the DJ Console as well as a make shift dance floor. They host fairly unrecognised music bands to play at their venue over the weekends.
Being located close to Manyata Tech Park, they cater to the office crowd and are open to hosting corporate events.
This get together was part of the FBAB meet up and we had an awesome time thanks to the excellent drinks and food.
Though not a biker chick, I do love bikes and I think they have all the right ingredients in place for one to have some fun and memorable times!
