When You Are Hoppi & You Know It @ Hoppipola
Dying to let out that kid in you then this is the place to hop to!
This is one place where you can let out that kid in you be it via the Jenga, Scrabble, Monopoly, Pick up sticks or the good old books!
There is something nice about the fact that you would not only be conversing with friends or family but also interacting with them via these games. Nowadays most place I visit, I see couples on the phone not interacting with one another or families where the young kids are busy on their mobiles.
Hoppipola makes you forget your mobiles and other worries and brings out that competitive streak you forgot you had in you!
Though they have been around for sometime now in Indiranagar, I never got an opportunity to visit them there. Finally managed to visit them when I heard about their newly opened Kalyan Nagar branch.
That said, this place also does cater to the crowd looking for good drinks, food and music. Their scene is pretty packed during the weekends with their DJ belting out some of the latest chart busting numbers.
The ambience is cheerful and bright and goes a long way in setting a comfortable and relaxing feeling for their patrons. They have colourful old fashioned phone booths at the entrance and to add to the fun factor I understand you can try our luck at free drinks using these phones.
They have an amazing menu of cocktails so well crafted with a few know hows on each kind of cocktail.
BEVERAGES
RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE
The Rumble was a bit too strong for my liking and unfortunately the dry ice had not yet come in for the day.
KISS OF LOVE
The Kiss of Love was a good drink and a good looking one too!
APPETIZERS
CHISELED PRAWNS
The Chiseled prawns marinated in basil and chilli were excellently prepared with a soft melt in the mouth feel and amazing taste. Served with a great tasting dip.
HARISSAN PANEER
Tunisian made Paneer served on a innovative stool like setup and on sticks. The taste though a bit strong went well with our drinks.
PEPPERY CRUSTACEANS
The Peppery prawns tossed in butter garlic sauce were just ok being a little too well done and thereby a bit rubbery.
MAIN COURSE
PERI PERI CHICKEN BIRYANI
As usual we ordered too many starters hence went with just the Peri Peri Chicken Biriyani. The dish was quite different served with an omelette on the biriyani and hung curd. The chicken was perfectly done and the biriyani was so different in taste but great.
The music was good with the latest numbers as well as some good oldies being played.
The service was prompt and attentive with good knowledge on their drinks.
In addition the some of the above mentions, another great reason to visit them is the value for money for not only their drinks but also food items especially seafood!
Overall, a fun lunch with friends with an intention to come back to try out more of their wonderful drinks!
